Who We Are
Laremont School is a therapeutic public day school that offers specialized programs to meet the diverse needs of its students. The ELP (Exploring, Learning, and Participating) Program serves students from early childhood through transition grades, providing a highly individualized environment for those with complex needs, including access to intensive therapeutic services, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment. The Transition Center supports young adults aged 18-22, focusing on functional academics, daily living skills, and vocational training. With specialized classrooms, low student-to-staff ratios, and dedicated learning spaces, students are provided with the support and environment needed to make meaningful progress tailored to their unique needs.
With a focus on academics and daily living skills, the program uses a highly adapted curriculum tailored to each student's unique needs. Students also benefit from a wide range of assistive technology and adaptive equipment to enhance their learning experience and support their development. The students in the ELP program, have access to specialized spaces including a sensory room, a gross motor room, music therapy, and an innovation lab.
The Transition Center at Laremont serves young adults aged 18-22 across eight specialized classrooms. These include three Supported Transition classrooms (one with additional support for behavioral needs), one LASSO III classroom, and four ELP classrooms.
The center provides comprehensive services focused on functional academics, daily living skills, vocational training, and self-advocacy. Students participate in community-based instruction through weekly trips, giving them real-world exposure. Vocational programming is a key priority, with students working on job-related skills both in the classroom and at work sites, tailored to meet their individual needs. The Transition Center features dedicated spaces to enrich learning, such as a Market Prep room, a vocational training area, a laundry facility, a mock apartment and store, and an age-appropriate sensory space.

What is MOVE?
The MOVE Program is an activity-based program that combines therapy with teaching, designed to help individuals build important motor skills. These skills include sitting, standing, walking, and moving from one position to another.
Research shows that the brain has the ability to form new pathways over time, especially when movements are practiced repeatedly. MOVE focuses on practicing these movements through everyday, meaningful activities. MOVE is an assessment-based program that uses data to guide its progress.
